Coys returns to the marketplace.

Coys of Kensington Ltd went into administration in April 2020, with debts exceeding £5 million.

This was not of course the first time that a “Coys” company had gone into administration with customers having not been paid for their sold cars.

However, the Coys name has now returned with a completely new firm, Coys of London Automobiles Ltd, with new investors and management. Coys was one of the main players in the classic car world throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and the question now is whether the new company can overcome the damaged reputation associated with the Coys name. There will doubtless be mixed opinions about this news, and it may well prove to be a difficult task, particularly as creditors, with perhaps doubtful chance of payment, are likely to be making some noise. The new management intends to restore confidence in the Coys name by offering quality cars, and an improved high level of customer service and support. Car sales will be operated from a refurbished site in Richmond and selected auction sales in the UK and Europe.

It will be interesting to see how this new venture progresses.
