It was announced on the first day of this year’s Festival of Speed that Goodwood Road Racing Club will be expanding and launching the Goodwood Road Racing Club of America. A California based membership will be offered from 2027and will follow the same lines as the UK based club but with the American fans well in mind offering a wide range of events.
The first event will take place at the Willow Spring Raceway at Rosamund California in 2028. Willow Springs has been at the heart of the Southern California automotive community since the 1950s and has seen numerous famous names in motorsport competing there.
It was also announced that Sir Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti and “King” Richard Petty are to be patrons.
The “petrol heads” of California are fortunate to be the first internationals to locally experience the benefits of membership of the expanding Goodwood family, and the Duke of Richmond has indicated that it is intended for the club to bring in additional venues in America and further afield.
