Brooklands Museum receives a £950,000 lifeline from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.

In common with many organisations throughout the country, Brooklands faces considerable financial difficulties because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The coming months are likely to continue to be particularly difficult as winter approaches, which will not be helped by the uncertainty of changing lockdown restrictions. The recently announced Government funding for Brooklands will be very welcome and help to cover projected losses until spring next year, and ongoing running costs.

Brooklands is an independent charity with income from visitors having always been the main source of funds, and the uncertain times of the “Covid” effect has made life very difficult. However, Brooklands’ amazing collection of cars, aeroplanes and historic buildings, at the site of the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit, will doubtless continue to be a popular attraction with the public and can hopefully look forward to a brighter time to come.
