Sad to hear of the passing John Horsman, one of motor racing’s brilliant behind-the-scenes innovators. He is widely credited with sorting what many drivers described as an extremely fast but undrivable car – the legendary Porsche 917. He and his team, working with Porsche, re-designed the rear bodywork to create the short tail 917K version transforming the car into one of the greatest sports racing cars of all time. This, and other stories, are included in his 2006 book “Racing in the Rain”.
